The Perfect Kids' Skateboard

If you want to skateboard, you need good balance, good timing, and coordination. Of course, there are different types of skateboarding that you can do. You can do street skateboarding, skate at parks, cruising, and longboarding. Naturally, we all want to do tricks on our skateboards. Finally, once you have decided on what type of skateboarding you want to do, you need to choose the perfect skateboard. At AULOVES, we can offer you the best kids’ skateboards or a beginner skateboard and even make a pro skateboarder happy. Your skateboard can even flash happy lights every time the wheels turn with a skateboard light.

How to Choose the Right Skateboard

When choosing your first skateboard, the most import part to look at is the skateboard decks. The flat boards you stand on when skateboarding are called skate decks. If street skateboarding is your plan, then a short board would be ideal and the best option for doing tricks, whether you are a beginner skateboarder or a pro. Your board shape is essential, and the length, width, and 'concave of the deck will determine what you can do on your skateboard. Skateboard decks are available in three sizes for the different age groups:

  • Micro with a deck size of 6.5” to 6.75” for children 5-years and younger.
  • The Mini with a deck size of 7.0” is suitable for children between 6 and 8-years of age.
  • Mid-Size is suitable for children between 9 to 12-years of age, with a deck size of 7.3 inches.

It is also essential to consider your child’s shoe size and height when choosing their board. You would not want it to be too narrow or wide for their feet. The ideal skateboard deck for children and beginners is 7.0’ to 7.5 inches.

    Tips for Beginner Skateboarders

Skateboarding is a skill like any other that you can learn and practice to perfect. If you have managed your balance and you can push off and stop, you are ready to work towards being a pro. To think skateboarding started as roller skates attached to a plank, we believe with an AULOVE star skateboard; you should manage well if you follow a few simple beginners’ tips.

    • First, you should do the push test to determine your stance. There are two basic stances where you either have your left foot in front and push with your right foot or have your right foot in front and push with your left foot. You can now play around moving forward to gain some comfort with your balance on the skateboard.
    • Next, you will need to learn to turn or change direction, as just plain forward and backward become a bit boring. With a bit of pressure on your toes or heels, you can direct your skateboard left or right. Pressure on the toes will lead to a right turn, and pressure on the heel to a left turn. If you are pushing with your left foot, this will be the other way around.
    • Very importantly, you must know how to stop or slow down. Using your back foot as an anchor is the easiest and safest method. You lift your back foot off the skateboard and place drag your heel on the ground to slow down or stop. The more pressure on the ground, the faster you will stop.

Find a nice, even smooth surface to practice these steps for a while before going out on the streets or to the skate parks.
